His is the Praise

Some here were beginning to get a bit worried that a dry winter (which it has been until Sunday) would mean water shortages later on but al hamdulillah, the rain has come.

وَأَنْزَلْنَا مِنَ الْمُعْصِرَاتِ مَاءً ثَجَّاجًا

...and we have sent down out of the rainclouds water cascading...

No Clash

I was just wondering the other day. If there is really no "clash of civilizations" does that mean that there are no civilizations or no clash? If there are no distinct civilizations then what does that say about the notion of Muslim societies based on taqwa? Do they not exist? And if there are distinct civilizations but no clash then what does that say of the about true nature of those civilizations? Do they have so much in common that conflict is unnecessary?

Was just wondering...
